Pastor Ray Daniel
.
Ray Daniel is pastor of the Amesbury District on the north shore of Boston, Massachusetts.  He previously pastored the Village Church at Atlantic Union College for many years, one of the oldest congregations and church buildings in the denomination, organized in 1864 with Stephen Haskell as its first pastor.

Most of his ministry has been connected with church institutions.  He has pastored at Ozark Academy, Maplewood Academy, Union College and near Southern University.  He has also served in conference work as Executive Secretary and Director of Ministerial, Youth, Personal Ministries, Evangelism, and Communication Departments (not all at the same time!).

He has been involved in a lot of public evangelism in America and the former Soviet Union, serving as a singing evangelist for a time. Music is a large part of Pastor Daniel’s life.  He has sung across the United States and abroad.  His pastoral evangelism includes unique ministries such as golf and motorcycle fellowships.  He has pitched fast-pitch softball for nearly fifteen years with a Latin American team as another evangelistic outreach.

On a personal note, he is the husband of one wife, Bonnie Lang Daniel from Cleveland, North Dakota. Bonnie teaches Kindergarten-First Grade at Edgewood Elementary School in Stoneham, Massachusetts. They have two sons.  Dustan is married and lives in Chicago, Illinois.  Derek is legal aid in Lincoln, Nebraska.

On a historical note, Pastor Daniel is a 9th great-grandson of Pocahontas and the 6th great-grandson of Robert Daniell, colonial governor of the Carolina Colony and one of the original British colonists on Barbados.  He was very interested in Virginia’s 400th anniversary celebration recently which featured his ancestor’s role in its earliest history. And, of course, he loves living in history-rich Boston and New England.
